Gold Rolex Oysterquartz Breaks World Record At Sir Michael Caine's Auction

By the end of the auction, all 183 pieces in Caine's collection had been sold.

Valuable personal items belonging to Sir Michael Caine and his wife were recently sold at an auction at Bonhams London. The auction was termed "Sir Micheal Caine: The Personal Collection sale."

Among the belongings was one item that grabbed the most attention. The legendary actor's gold Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date was sold for an astounding £125,250 (approximately $166,500). This set a new world record price for the model. It far exceeded the pre-sale estimate of $£8,000-£12,000 ($10,500 – $15,800). The actor wore the watch on several sets, notably in the 1988 film, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
