Only a few watch collectors have been spotted wearing the Patek Philippe Nautilus Tiffany-blue dial 5711 model. The first piece from this priceless collection was auctioned for $6.5 million in less than 15 minutes in December 2021. This indicates just how valuable and sought-after the timepieces are.
One celebrity who was able to lay his hands on the watch is Leonardo DiCaprio. The Oscar winner was spotted courtside at the Los Angeles Lakers versus Portland Trail Blazers game at Crypto.com Arena. He joins the list of elite watch collectors like Jay-Z and LeBron James as one of the few who had the chance to purchase the limited-edition model.
In early 2021, Patek Philippe announced that it would be discontinuing its 5711 Nautilus model. This announcement led to a significant increase in the collection prices and contributed to its exclusive status.
To end the 5711 Nautilus model, Patek Philippe released a green-faced edition last year, auctioned at $376,000. This new edition retains everything from the previous version except the colour of the dial. Instead, an olive green dial replaces the former blue dial.
